Many of the old network tools in the net-tools package have been deprecated for a while now. The replacement for the traditional netstat command is ‘ss’.
It of course has a ton of options (like netstat). I particularly like ‘ss -e’ (extended) and ‘ss -E’ (show connections as they appear).
Do take a look today and see if you can finally replace your netstat usage today.
