Congratulations! You might soon be a corpse.

Welcome to The Musical Murders of 1929, an improvisational, role-playing murder-mystery featuring a combustible mixture of greed, sex, fear, and vengeance. We have provided the background for the evening; you and your fellow players will create the drama.

It is 1929. The Jazz Age—that era of cheap autos, hot music, loose-limbed flappers, and bootleg gin—is in full swing. You are aboard the RMS Whapcaplette, a luxury liner nearing the end of its voyage to New York City. It’s been an uneventful cruise with nothing that would explain why the Whapcaplette carries a fearsome reputation.

That will change within the next three hours.

You have been assigned the part of a character: a passenger or crewmember aboard the RMS Whapcaplette. Your character has a history, a personality, and a set of concrete goals. You must take this background, improvise your character, and realize your goals. It will take cunning, quick wits, and the ability to spot allies and adversaries among your fellow players. But although winners will be declared based on how well the players accomplish their tasks, the primary object is to have fun.
